Happy Halloween, a CT Layout and Free QP

Friday is here again. Yeah! It's also Halloween and my friend Lynnette's birthday. Happy Birthday, Girl!!! Wishing you the best always. Muah <3

Here is a layout I created for My Scrap Shop Template Challenge and for Adelina's Designs as a CT layout.

The kit I used is called Albalone Sunset. It is so sophisticated. Great for your formal occasion pictures and perfect for the vintage look. Adelina also has a set of 4 QPs to go with this kit in her store so be sure to check it out. I have 2 more CT layouts for Adelina to show you but it'll have to be next week when her new kit is released in her store.

Now some news...both my designers, Phillsboo and Adelina's Designs, are coming out with a new kit on Monday. So you know what that means...free QPs to give away. I know I can't wait. You will love what these 2 amazing ladies have come up with. Also, DigitalArts-Cafe is having a special for the entire month of November. If you spend just $10 at the store, you will get a huge, beautiful HOLIDAY TRADITIONS collab kit created by DAC Designers. That shouldn't be too hard to do. Both Phillsboo and Adelina's Designs are at DAC. So pick up their new kits next week and get a huge collab kit FREE. There will also be free QPs given away by DAC Designers CT. Lots of freebies coming out next month.

I know I made you wait, but you know the saying, "Good things come to those who wait." Yeah right, LOL! Without further ado, here's the free QP for Phillsboo's Grandma's Love kit from my fellow CT member, Michelle. You can download it from her blog. Click here or the preview to be taken to her blog.

I'll be back this weekend to give you the update on Halley and to show you more layouts. I wish everyone a safe and happy Halloween! Have a great weekend!!!

Another Free QP and Another CT

It's Wednesday! Happy Hump Day! LOL...that saying has always cracked me up. I never really knew what it meant until a couple years ago. A friend finally explained it me. Duh! Anyways, I'm sure most of you are here for another freebie QP. It's Nydia's turn...

You can click here or the preview to go to her blog to download this gorgeous QP. Don't forget to leave her some love. Tomorrow is Mariana's turn but I think she'll be switching with Vanessa so come back tomorrow to see which CT member will be giving out a freebie QP.

Well, I haven't had much time to create any more LOs but I've got a couple in the works so stay tuned.

And some more good news! I have been accepted as a CT Member for Adelina. Yay! I'm very excited to be a part of her team. You can buy her kits in her stores at Digital-Arts Cafe and Do It Digi. Of course, I'll still be working with Silvia aka Phillsboo and the wonderful girls on her team. I love those girls! But I also wanted to branch out a bit and Adelina's kits are definetely unique from Phillsboo and will help challenge my creativity to another level.

Well, I won't make this a long post. I have to finish my LOs before picking the kids up from school, helping with homework, then basketball practice and then cheerleading classes, lol. Oh the life of a SAHM! I really give props to women who have been doing it for years. I've only been doing it for a few months and I can tell you it's much harder than having a regular job working full-time. TTYL!

Hugs, Leah <3

Freebie QP, New Blog Design, About Halley & a HUGE Thank You!!!

Just to give you guys a heads up, this is going to be a long post so I hope you're ready for it, lol!

I'll start off with the freebie. My fellow CT member Laura is offering a free QP on her blog. She made it with Phillsboo's newest kit, Grandma's Love. Click here or the preview to be taken to her blog to download it.

And just to let you know again, the kit is still on sale at Digital Arts Cafe. Here's the preview of the kit again. Silvia is also offering a free coordinating frame in her shop so snatch it while it's free.

There will also be more free QPs to follow. Each CT member will give away a QP made from the kit, one each day. Mine was released yesterday (see previous post), today was Laura's turn, tomorrow is Nydia's, Thursday is Mariana's, Friday is Michelle's and Saturday is Vanessa's. I will try to post them here on my blog as they become available so be sure to check back.

Did you notice my new blog design? I was tired of looking at my plain, simple blog. It seemed as if it had no personality. So I wanted to bring a little of myself to the blog and my readers. I made the background and the header from Phillsboo's Smells Like Fall kit. Since it's the fall season, I wanted to bring an autumn feel to the blog but still integrating my style. I think the color scheme turned out perfect. I hope you feel the same. Let me know what you think. ;D

Now...about Halley. Well you know that I was rushing to get things done yesterday because I had an appointment later in the evening. The appointment was for an audition with a talent agency to see if they would consider representing my daughter Halley in modeling. As you can tell, my daughter loves the camera and she has been telling me that she wanted to be a model for the longest time. I haven't really pursued it for her because I had always been really busy with work and I always told myself that I wouldn't make a career out of my children's career.

Now that I am no longer working, things have changed. I now have all the time in the world to help my daughter make her dreams come true. So we went to the audition last night and it didn't turn out so well. There were 30 people. between the ages of 4 to 20. My daughter was one of the youngest people there. She totally had cold feet and almost blew the audition. She didn't want to walk the runway and when she did, she slouched and started giggling. During the commercial take, she was speaking so low that they couldn't hear her. But I guess her looks made enough of an impression that she actually got a callback. She was one of 10 out of 30 people who got the callback. I guess they felt that she has the potential and they can work with her on her confidence in front of an audience and a camera.

The callback was initially scheduled for today. They wanted to interview both parents so Michael was actually going to go with me. But they called me earlier and asked that we reschedule for Thursday, which was perfect for Michael because he wanted to watch the Lakers season game opener that is on tonight. So I'll have more information for you on Friday. Wish us luck!

And finally, last but certainly not least, a HUGE Thank You to everyone who left me a comment on my Grandma's Love QP. THANK YOU SOOOO VERY MUCH!!! It gives me tremendous motivation to keep creating for all of you. As of right now, 226 download! I am in awe and very flattered that you guys like the QP that much. A special shout-out to amh for the very sweet comment you left.

Well, I think the post is already too long and I'm sure you're anxious to visit Laura's blog to download her freebie QP and to Phillsboo's store to buy her Grandma's Love kit. :) TTYL!

Hugs and Kisses, Leah <3

A New Kit by Phillsboo and a Free QP

Woohoo! I finally got the word that Phillsboo's newest kit, Grandma's Love Collection, is now in her shop. This kit is HUGE!!! The preview below doesn't do it justice. Click here or the preview to see the details on this gorgeous kit. The kit is on sale now for 30% off the regular price so grab it right away before this deal is gone. You can purchase the items separately or the entire collection as a set for more savings.

Here are the two layouts I created with this kit.

I created this layout in memory of my late Grandmother. She passed right before Christmas last year and I miss her terribly. Lola was not her name. It is a word that means Grandmother in my native language Tagalog (Filipino language). If you have a chance, please read the journaling. My Grandmother was an amazing woman and I want everyone to know it. Her legacy will stay with my family for generations to come.

I submitted this layout for the AhhScrap! Quote Challenge. I had also planned on submitting it to the CRD (ChristineRaneDesigns) Sunday Template Challenge but I guess I didn't read the details about using products from any of Authentic Artistry's Block Party guests so I won't be submitting if after all. Oh well, I had fun creating anyways and that's the purpose, to have fun doing it! These pictures are from when Halley was only 6 mos old. She was a very happy baby.

And finally, what you really came here for, here's the free QP I made for you. I hope you like it!

Well, I really got run this time. Sorry this is such a quick post but I just needed to squeeze this in before I signed out for the day. Busy, busy day. I'll tell you more about it tomorrow. :)

It's Just Another Manic Monday

Remember that song? Oh yeah! I use to groove to that song back in the days, haha! Well, no time to reminisce right now. I have a busy day ahead of me. I know you are waiting for me to post my layouts for Phillsboo's newest kit, Grandma's Love, and the freebie QP I made with it but I haven't gotten word that the kit is out yet so this will have to be delayed for a little while longer. I'm hoping to be able to get it out to you later on today. If not, I'll make it up to you by offering another freebie QP. ;D How does that sound?

So instead, I wanted to share with you a couple more layouts that I completed for some challenges. The first layout was created for the KJoi Studios Font Challenge. It's called All-Star and it features my son, Jerman. Yay, a layout for Jerman!!!

The second layout is for 2 challenges - Digital Candy Candy Jar 25 Challenge and GottaPixel Blueprint Challenge. This one is called Daddy's Girl. Can you guess why? That was a rhetorical question, lol. We're always teasing Halley that her name should have been Michelle because she's the spitting image of her dad. The funny thing is she won't deny it, haha!

Well, I gotta run. I'll try to get back here later with the Grandma's Love layouts and freebie QP. See ya!

Another Layout

Here's the layout I created for 2 challenges - The SAS-y Template Challenge and AhhhScrap Font Challenge. Yes, I know that I'm taking the easy route but I have so many more challenges to do that if I can kill 2 birds with 1 stone, why not!

"Another layout of Halley?" you say. I know...I just seem to have so many more pictures of her than I do my boys. But my next layouts will be for my boys, I promise, lol!

Oh BTW, I have a couple more layouts to show you from Phillsboo's Grandma's Love kit which will be in her store on Monday. These ones were already done so they don't count for my "next layouts" for my boys, lol. I also have a free QP to give away so make sure to check back here on Monday!

Well, I have a busy weekend ahead of me so I probably won't be online or doing much scrapping this weekend. Til then, have a grrrrreat weekend!!! See you guys on Monday! <3

A Layout for Mama Corazon

Meet my beatiful mom, Corazon...

I created this layout for the Ahhh Scrap October Scraplift Challenge. I named the layout after my mother's name, Corazon, which means Heart in Spanish. The picture was taken by my brother at my cousin La Crista's wedding this past August. Isn't she beautiful?

More layouts to follow. I told myself that I would complete more challenges at the different forums I belong to, but I've been having so much fun working on layouts for CT Phillsboo that I've kind of put the challenges aside. Now that I'm all done with the layouts, and even managed to create a couple of QPs as well, I will try to do at least 1 challenge for every forum before the end of the month. I only have a week left to scrap away, LOL. Be back soon!

I Reached My Goal!!!

At the beginning of this month, I set a goal to create 8 layouts by the end of the month. I am happy to say that I have accomplished my goal, above and beyond. I completed my 8th & 9th layout yesterday, posting my 10th layout right now and finished another layout for Phillsboo's newest kit, called Grandma's Love, that will be released in her shop next week. I also made a QP from the layout and that will be released when the kit comes out. So without further ado, here's my 2nd layout for Phillsboo's Divalicious kit called, "It's me, Halley!".

As you can tell from the layout, my daughter Halley loves to be in front of the camera. She aspires to someday be a model but need to first overcome her stage fright. She claims to be shy, but let me tell you she is far from it. She just doesn't like performing in front of people, although she has no problem doing it whatsoever.

She's been taking cheer classes since June of this year and her team marched in the Hacienda Heights 4th of July Parade. Man was that a long parade and it was scorching HOT. I know because I was a parent volunteer and I marched alongside my daughter. She also performed in front of parents at her team's Tiger Jam. I'll have to upload the video to her performance some day. It was an amateur video, taken by me, so the quality wasn't that good but it will serve its purpose by perserving the memory of it. Her team will also be marching in the La Puente Christmas Parade on December 4th so something else to look forward. And she can't wait to do it. So my daughter shy? Nah!

On a different note, I had the pleasure to chat with some of my fellow CT members. Silvia, Laura, Marianna, it was great chatting with you ladies. They are quite the characters and are very sweet ladies. Mariana, have fun in Rio de Janeiro!!! Take lots of pictures and don't forget to share with us.

Well, I have to prepare dinner now. During our chat, we started talking about food and it just got all of us hungry. Laura said she was making Spaghetti for her husband tonight and guess what...I decided to do the same. It's been a while since we've had it and Michael and the kids love it. I'm not much of a pasta person, I prefer rice. I guess it's the Asian in me, LOL! Silvia, I guess I have to make my steak another night. Good night!

A New Layout and Free QP

I made another layout from Phillsboo's Smells Like Fall kit available now in Digital-Arts Cafe. I love the versatility of this kit. It has a lot of rich & neutral colors for layouts for all season. This is the first layout I created with a picture of me and my hubby, Michael. Isn't he cute?

Credits:

And I couldn't resist creating a freebie QP for you. This is my very first freebie on this blog. The wordart isn't included. You'll have to grab the kit to get it. Please leave me some love when you download. I'd love to know what you think. Enjoy!

Click here or the image to download the QP.

I have some EXCITING news...

So it's been burning me up for a couple of weeks now. Silvia aka Phillsboo, Digital-Arts Cafe Designer, approached me a a couple weeks ago and asked me if I would be a member of her Creative Team. Of course, I accepted enthusiastically. Being that I'm fairly new at digital scrapbooking, only a couple months now, it is a great honor to be asked to be part of a team. It gives me great confidence and much inspiration to keep doing what I'm doing. :)

Well, it's official!!! Silvia made her announcement today and I'm very proud to be a part of her team. Thank you, Silvia, for the wonderful opportunity and the faith you have in me! So from here on out, I'll be showing off her new kits and the layouts I make with them. ;D I can't wait to show them to you. She's also giving me creative freedom to create some QPS to give out as freebies on this blog. So come back to visit every so often cuz I just may have a surprise for you, hehe.

On another note, I wanted to apologize for having been missing in action for the last week. As you may remember, I've been organizing my hard drive and I'm still not completely done, but very close to it. Anyways, I've managed to create another layout using Rachael Hudnall's Road Trip kit.

Well, I'm off to finish out this madness with my hard drive, lol, and create some more layouts from Phillsboo's kits. I just couldn't resist sharing the good news with all of you. See ya! ;D

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! My weekend was fantastic. As you know, Jerman had a basketball tournament this past weekend. We won 2 games, lost 2. One of the games we lost by only 1 point and we were ahead by 1 with only 6 seconds left in the game, that was painful! But oh well, you lose some, you win some.

On Saturday night, my sister Erizza and our friends Stephanie, Anna and Leianne came over. We had fun just chatting, snacking and of course drinking cocktails, while the men watched Iron Man. It's always fun to spend time with my girls. They're all like sisters to me and I love them.

And on Sunday night, we had the pleasure of meeting my stepdaughter Ebony's "friend". She said he's not her boyfriend, just a guy she's dating. But I think she's really crushing on him and he will probably end up being her boyfriend really soon. He's a really smart, nice, good-looking kid. As always, my husband didn't have a lot to comment about him. Of course a father never really wants to see his little girl grow up even though she's already 19, LOL!

So I managed to do a couple of layouts this morning and I wanted to share them with you. The first one was done using Phillsboo's Divalicious kit. It's a really fun, girly kit. I'm sure I'll be making more layouts with this kit in the future. I especially love the wordart that came with the kit. If you haven't noticed, I love wordart. Your layout can tell a story just with the wordart and pictures alone. I call this layout, Smile Whisper.

Credits:

The other layout was made using Phillsboo's Smells Like Fall kit. I really love the rich colors and textured papers in this kit. It was perfect for the photo of my cousins and I from last Thanksgiving. The colors in the kit matched the colors of our shirts. I call this layout Family Thanksgiving.

So that's 7 layouts already, 1 more to go. I'm sure I won't stop at 8. This is too much fun!!! Well, this is all for now. TTYL!

TGIF!!!

Yay! It's Friday! I love Friday! I don't have to get up early the next day to get the kids ready and take them to school. Well sometimes I do if Jerman has a basketball tournament, only on tournament weekends because his games are usually played on Sunday during the regular season. Oh wait, he does have a tournament this weekend but his first game tomorrow isn't until 11:45am so I can still sleep in a little bit...sleeping in for me is getting up at 8am, I'm usually up at 6am.

So I didn't make meatloaf last night for dinner like I said I would. I didn't have everything I needed to make it and I didn't have time to go to the store with enough time left to have dinner ready by the time Michael and the kids got home. So I made adobo instead, that's a Filipino dish. It was quick and easy.

And I didn't get to watch Iron Man last night like I wanted to because there was a Lakers pre-season game on. They played against the Clippers and they got their butts spanked bigtime - 80 (Lakers), 107 (Clippers). That's OK though, it is after all only pre-season and it won't count against their record.

Good news is I was able to do both of those things tonight. Woohoo! The meatloaf actually turned out pretty good and I surprised everyone by making peach cobbler for dessert. YUMMY! The movie Iron Man was also pretty good and I also got a chance to watch Spiderwick Chronicles, which was better than I thought it would be. The reason I say that is because, in my opinion, when a movie is made from a book, oftentimes, the movie doesn't turn out being as good. Take DaVinci Code for example...I was very disappointed in the movie but I loved the book.

Anyways, the real reason for the post today is to show you another layout.

This layout is for the Divine Digital Sketchabilities Challenge. It's simple, not alot happening on the page. I tried adding some flower elements but it didn't look right to me so I just left it alone. This picture was taken by my bro Allan on Mother's Day 2008 in my mom's living room. It's of my mom, my 3 kids and my nephew Joshua (my sis Erizza's son). I thought this was such an adorable picture. It truly depicts the love and joy my kids (and Joshua) have for my mom.

Well, I probably won't get a chance to do any scrapping or blogging this weekend because of Jerman's basketball tournament. I'll try to get some basketball pictures this weekend so I can make a layout for Jerman. I don't know which kit I'll be using, guess you'll just have to wait and see. So that's 5 down, 3 layouts to go...I just may get a chance to double my goal, hehe! Maybe not, I need to organize my digiscrap files. My hard drive is out of control right now. That's all for now. Have a great weekend!!!

Last One For Today

As promised, here is my layout for the Gotta Pixel Wonderfully Wordy Challenge.

Credits:
"Breakfast at Tiffany's" kit by A Work In Progress-Designs by Vicki

This is it for today. My neck and back hurts from sitting in front of the computer all day, not to mention I have some housework that needs to get done before my husband and the kids get home. And maybe, I'll make meatloaf for dinner. Oh if you only knew the story behind the meatloaf, LOL! I'll tell you at a later time. So if anyone has a really good meatloaf recipe, please share. I'd love to have it. After dinner, looking forward to watching Iron Man, the new version starring Robert Downey, Jr. TTYL!

I'm on a roll...

Wow! I finished another layout. (Giving myself a pat on the back, LOL!)

This was for Gotta Pixel Wacky Wednesday Challenge. I think I went a little wackier than I was supposed to, but I had fun doing it. Hope you like it!

MelindaH, Guest Creative Team from Gotta Pixel thinks my goal of 8 layouts this month is lofty. Well girl, this is the 3rd layout this month and it's only the 9th. I still have 2/3 of the month left to get 5 more done for ya. How's that for a newbie? ;) Thanks for pushing me, hehe. Oh yeah, my next layout is for the Gotta Pixel Wonderfully Wordy Challenge so stay tuned. BRB!

Flower Girls (v2)

So I received some wonderful comments and suggestions on the layout I posted yesterday for the DSP NKOTB Round1 Challenge. Thank you, ladies! Here's version 2 of Flower Girls.

YAY!!! NKOTB Round 1 Challenge Done

If you recall in an earlier post, I mentioned that I had signed up for a challenge. It was the DSP NKOTB Challenge. Well, I completed my layout for Round 1. Woohoo!!! Here it is:

Credits:
Welcome Kit by DSP Designers
Font - DSP Curly Q Solid by SuzanneCWalker

This was my first attempt at creating a layout without the use of a template. The color scheme of the welcome kit they gave us to use went so well with the color scheme of my cousin's wedding that I just couldn't resist scrapping pictures of my daughter Halley as one of the flower girls. I can't wait to read the comments from expert designers and fellow NKOTB challengers. ;D I'd also appreciate comments from anyone else.

Finally, another layout...

...I've been working on since Sunday after my son's basketball game. Well not continuously of course, I'd like to think I wasn't that slow, LOL. You know how life just takes you from one thing to another. Before you know it, it's 3 days later and you remember that there was something you were working on that you hadn't finished. Well, that was the case on this one. But at last, it's done. It actually turned out better than I had first imagined. ;D Don't you just love it when that happens.

Credits:
"Raining Cats & Dogs" Collab Kit by A Work In Progress-Designs by Vicki and Mel_H Designs

This layout is of Rocky, our German Shepherd. He was only 6 weeks old when these pictures were taken, but he's almost 6 mos now so you can just imagine how much bigger he has gotten. HE'S HUUUUGE! Anyways, one of my most favorite designers is Vicki Parker. I love her kits!!! Visit her blog and check out her stuff. She's got a bunch of beautiful kits to make great layouts. Well, this layout was created from one of her recent kits, "Raining Cats & Dogs" Collab kit with Mel_H Designs (Mel has some really nice kits too).

Well, I'm off to make some more layouts. I'm hoping to post a couple more before the week is over. :) I have a deadline to meet for one of the challenges I joined.

A Special Thanks...

... to Barbara aka Kayleks Designs for designing my blog. She did an amazing job! **Big hugs & kisses** **muah, muah**

She used her kit, Love Birds, which you can find in her store at Plain Digital Wrapper. If you would like more info on her services, please check out her blog and scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page. She creates awesome blog designs, banners, blinkies, etc.

Hugs & Kisses,

Leah ;D
