I just wanted to show you a tag created by Chassity with the kit I made for the February DAC Color Challenge, which you can still get here. Isn't it awesome?!?! I love it! Thank you so much, Chassity! I wish I could use it as my signature but unfortunately I look nothing like the girl on the tag, LOL, and that would be misrepresentation, haha!

I met Chassity at Scrapkit Design 101 at CafeMom.com. It's a group for people who want to learn how to design digital scrap kits. It's a lot of fun and lots of wonderful ladies. It features tutorials and weekly challenges to help develop designing skills. I know I've learned a lot. :) Anyone who shares a passion for learning and creativity is welcome to join.

Here are the layouts I made with this kit. The photos for the first LO were taken at my cousin Ashlee's debut, a Filipino tradition celebrating a young lady's 18th birthday, a lot like the Spanish quincenera. Halley was one of the flower/candle girls. I think she was only 5 years old.

I've been asked by Jodi Watson at Throwing Some Scraps Around to be a guest CT and I gladly accepted on a trial basis. I would have loved to take on a full-time, permanent position on her team but being that I already have 3 CT commitments, it wouldn't have given me enough time to be able to practice my designing skills, participate in forum challenges and create freebies for all of you. She's a very nice and funny lady and was happy to accept my terms for now.

So as my first task as her guest CT, I had the pleasure of playing with her kit, Tommy Boy, which can be found in her store at Do It Digi, Digiscrap Station and Michelle's Angels. Here's the layout I made with this kit. The photo was taken at a wedding that Halley was a part of last month. She was one of the flower girls...again for the third (and probably last) time. The reason I say this is although she's only going to be 9 yrs old at the end of this month (her bday is March 31st), she's tremendously tall for her age. She's almost 5 ft tall (gets it from her dad who's 6'3"). It's hard to tell from the picture because she was slouching but she was taller than the bride, lol. It was a garden wedding on the patio of The Odyssey Restaurant in Granada Hills. Very nice place with a nice view.

I've Been Tagged...Again!

Helen at Ice Princess Scrapz has tagged me with a challenge. Since this is my second time being tagged for this challenge, I won't be passing it on, but I will do the first part of the challenge by posting the 6th photo in the 6th folder of My Pictures folder. It's a good thing I've added some more pictures on my computer so you didn't have to see the same photo twice, lol. Here is what I found.

Lo and behold, it's another basketball picture. Too bad, nothing exciting, lol. If you didn't know, my son plays on a travel team and we've been to lots of games and I, of course like a good cheermom, take lots of pictures. OK, that's it for this post. Check out this beautiful vintage kit by Lynn Griffin called Old Time Love available at Digital Arts Cafe. This is not your traditional Valentine kit, but rather an elegant, romantic kit suited to scrap any of your precious memories.

Here is the layout I created with this kit. I thought this photo was perfect for the primary theme of the kit. It is of my grandfather kissing my grandmother on their 50th Golden Wedding Anniversay. Both my grandparents have since passed on but look at how happy they are. This photo is truly worth a thousand words, rather a priceless memory of the both of them.

I've Been Challenged

I had typed up the blog train posting before I posted the sneak peak because I wanted it to be ready and posted at a touch of a button the moment the blog train started. I didn't realize that it would post before the sneak peek. For some reason, and I didn't know it, in Blogger, if you create a draft post and don't publish it until days later, it will post on the date that you created the draft. Hmmm. Good to know for future postings, lol.

Anyway, I've been challenged by a fellow CT Member, Michelle.

Here are the rules to follow:

9/16/2007 - My son Jerman played in the National Junior Basketball All-Star Tournament with the Diamond Bar chapter. After the season ended, the team decided to stay together and create a NJB All-Net team with the existing players. This was the huddle before the very first game of the All-Net Fall League in Upland Arena.

WOW!!! I can't believe I finally did it. I finally designed my very first kit and I'm so excited to share it with you. This is my contribution to the Digital Arts Cafe Chase the Winter Blues Away Blog Train. The kit is named Spring Blooms and it includes 18 papers and 42 elements. I guess I kind of went overboard on my first kit, lol. I thought about making a coordinating alpha but wasn't sure whether or not you cared for it. I know I don't really use alphas in my layouts. Happy Valentine's Day & Freebie You're My Valentine by Kittiescrap Forum Designers

I had a pretty nice day today, weather notwithstanding. It had rained most of the day and suppose to rain on and off for all of next week too. I don't really mind the rain much, as long as I don't have to be in it...I was in it most of today. You say, "Rain...what's the big deal?". But I live in sunny California and it hardly ever rains here. In fact, we had 80 degree weather all last week so I guess it's long overdue.

Nah...the weather wasn't what made the day nice. It was being on the go all day. I had a lunch date with my sister and nephew at our favorite all-you-can-eat seafood buffet. I love me some seafood, especially sushi. After lunch, we went to a tea house next door and I got my fave hot Jasmine milk tea with boba. YUMMY! I was so stuffed from lunch that I wasn't even hungry when it came time for dinner, LOL!

After spending time with my sis, I went to Halley's school to help out with her class Valentine party. She was begging me all last night to help out and I don't really have a reason not to since I'm not working right now. Guess this goes along the line of being a stay-at-home mom, hehe. The party actually turned out pretty fun. Halley was thrilled to see me. I didn't tell her that I was coming to help since I didn't actually know myself until I was on my way there.

They had some activites, including decorating their own cupcakes. They also had a lot of treats. Seems like the entire class contributed something to the party. Halley brought the Capri-Sun. I had to take a picture of all the goodies they got. One the girls in class even said she was so happy and lucky to be in that class.

I also had to take a picture of Halley with her best school friends ~ Mia, Savannah and Lily. I don't know the boy who snuck in for the picture.

And this was Halley's giveaway. Her teacher and classmates loved it. There were oohs and ahhs at how "creative" it was and wondered how I did it. Shhhh...they don't know my secret. Even my sister was surprised that I came up with this. She didn't know I had a creative side, lol.

I had to make 20 of these treat bags. Man, I was tired.

I received a couple of awards while I was out. The first one is the Folhas da Amizade (Leaves of Friendship in Portuguese) from Laura, one of my CT buddies. We've spent many hours on Yahoo! messenger discussing life...hehehe...so you can just imagine how much time we've spent chatting. Thank you, Laura, for this award. It really means a lot to me. OMG...I am so bad at this. One of my favorite designers, Silvia AKA Phillsboo, awarded me the Bomb Chick Award last week and I'm just posting it now. Bad Leah, hehe!

This is my first award ever so I didn't know what I was suppose to do with it. But anyways, thank you so much, Silvia, for all you do!!! She gave me my first break as a CT member and from then on, I had the confidence to join 4 more CTs. But she'll always be my #1 Designer. :) Yes, I'm putting it out there. I LOVE all the other designers I work with. They are ALL awesome and very talented ladies, or else I would have not applied to be a part of their CT. But Silvia is more than just a designer I work with, she has become a trusted friend and I love her for that. :D

In case you haven't noticed, I added a new blinkie under my Creative For section. That's because I've joined yet another CT for Goth_Kittie. But this is the last CT for now. I'm starting to get really busy with all the CT Layouts I have to do and this is about all I can handle right now. So without further ado, here's Goth_Kittie's newest kit, Mathis. Let me just tell you why I decided to join Goth_Kittie's Creative Team. Well, bottom line is she makes some gorgeous kits. Check out her blog and her boutique. A Charity Kit...For Unto Us

During the Holiday season, I'm reminded of everything I'm thankful for and that even though times are tough for me and my family right now, there are still so many people out there that are worst off than me. I thank God everyday for his blessings - a roof over our heads, food on our table, family and friends who love us and most importantly for me, my beautiful healthy children.

I'm in a scrapping frenzy...2 more LOs to show you and I'm working on a few more for today. I'm gonna start off with the Autumn Glow kit by Julie.Itis.

When I first picked this kit to work on, I thought I would be going with a fall theme, just as the title of the kit suggests. However, when trying to figure out which photo to use with the kit, I ran into a stumbling block. As you may remember, my other HD that stores ALL of my photos got messed up about a couple weeks back. So I've been looking in my Shutterfly account for pictures. Well, I couldn't find one...so I thought, what other kind of photos would go with this kit? Duh, Christmas photos, of course...lol. So here's the layout I made with this kit using Christmas portraits from last year.

Well, I just have to let everyone know what's coming up next week. My 3 designers all have a kit coming out next week if not later today or tomorrow. First, Kayleks Designs has a new kit in the PDW store called Love Birds. Check out this preview. Isn't it gorgeous? I can already picture the LO I will be creating with it, hehe.

Next, Adelina also has another kit that will be sold at her Scrap-N-Tag shop exclusively. It's called Winter Chill and it's great for all those winter pics in the snow...or not, I just used Christmas pictures since I haven't been in the snow, LOL. For my November assignment at PDW, I was assigned to work with 3 designers - KariQ Designs, Gypsy Couture and Julie.Itis. We were told to pick 1 kit from each designer that we wanted to play with...and I must tell you it was soooo hard to pick just 1 from each designer. They have so many amazing kits in their store, I felt like a child in a toy store or my husband at Home Depot, LOL. Those who know Michael knows exactly what I'm talking about. So here are the 3 kits I chose to play with and the layouts I created with them.

It's been an entire week since my last post...that is way toooo long. So let me tell you what I've been up to. Not a darn thing...lol, j/k....actually quite a few things. First of, I wanted to share some news with you. I'm privileged to have joined 2 more CTs - Kaylek Keegan Designs and Plain Digital Wrapper. And let me tell you, it is very exciting to be part of PDW. They have some amazing designers there and I have the honor of working with ALL of them...and Kaylek, who is also a PDW Designer, makes amazing blinkies. Check out her blog to see some of her work.

Now let me clarify that I am still on Phillsboo and Adelina's CT. They are also very talented designers and I wouldn't dare give up my chance to work with their wonderful creations. Speaking of which, Adelina has a new kit coming out soon. Don't worry, I'll let you know when it is released in her store.

Back to business... I have a few new layouts to share with you from my new CT assignment. I will be putting them up in the following post because there are so many that it'll take you forever to get thru it if I post it here.

But what I really wanted to do was go back and tell you about the freebies that my fellow CT members are giving away on their blogs. Now I know I promised a freebie QP from this kit but because I'm having issues with my hard drive (see previous post) it's going to have to wait til I can get it fixed. Or I may just have to make another one as soon as I can get my hands on the kit again....hmmm. Let me sleep on it.

So just an update on the hard drive situation...I bought another one, one that has more disk space...1 TB, so who knew what TB meant?...lol...I was talking to the service person at Fry's Electronics and I was so embarassed when I called it titabyte, lol. I don't think he understood me though because he didn't laugh at me so I asked him what it stood for and he told me terabyte. Guess you had to be there, lol. Anyways, I still haven't recovered all the files that was in my old one. My husband is trying to fix it right now because he doesn't want to have to pay $150 to have someone else recover the data. Oh how I wish that he could be my hero. Well, he is regardless but if he fixes it...ooh baby, you get a special gift from me. ;D I'll keep you posted on my HD status.

Not So Good Morning!

Good morning! Well, not so good morning for me...I don't know what to do today. My hard drive is messed up and I'm so lost without it. The USB connection from the HD to the computer is loose and it won't read it. Grrrrr! Gotta figure something out. All my digi files are in there. How am I suppose to share the layouts and QPs I've been promising you???

Omigosh, I'm going nuts trying to figure this out. Usually I would try to open the case to see if I can tighten the screw inside that holds the connection but I don't even see where to open the case, lol. It's so fustrating all I can do is laugh about it. It's one of those FreeAgent External HD. My husband bought it and up until now, it has worked so well...I loved it because it has something like 450GB of memory. It's no problem to get another one but how do I get all my files out of the old one??? Well, enough ranting and raving from me. It's 6:15am and I gotta get the kids up and ready for school. Hopefully something comes to me...

Well, Hello There...

Wow! Was I a bad blogger this weekend or what? I promised you that I would be back and I totally neglected you. Shame on me...just for that, I'm going to have to give you a special treat to make up for it....well, not quite right now because I'm waiting to hear back from Adelina if her new kit is already out in her stores. The new kit that should be released today is a collab kit she did with another DAC designer, A-liyah. It's called All These Pretty Things and it sure is pretty.

Unfortunately, I got word from Silvia aka Phillsboo this morning that there is a delay on her new kit Joyful Christmas being released. Oops, was I suppose to give out the name of her new kit? Why not...after all, it was suppose to have come out today, lol. I just can't offer you the free QP I created with the kit. But don't worry, it will be out soon enough. She told us tomorrow. ;D

I know some of you are anxious to hear the update on Halley...well, I don't have any good news on that. We had her callback on Thursday night and she totally blew it. I mean drop the ball blew it. She couldn't hold a decent conversation with the lady. Her answers were "I don't know" to everything she asked her. However, there was a highlight in the interview when we told the lady about her YouTube video. Oh, I know you're like I wanna see it. Well, here it is, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7CT180PJkQ. LOL, it's hilarious...but this is the real Halley. The Halley that's ready for the camera and always wanting to be the center of attention. Even the lady was like, "Where's that Halley? That's the Halley I want to meet." But she didn't show up and we were left with, "She's not ready. She needs to take classes to boost her confidence and not be afraid to be herself in front of people." Needless to say, we left there disappointed. Now, I can't blame her...after all, she is only 8 years old. And when she's ready to try again, she'll let us know. Until then, all we can do is support and encourage her on other things she may want to do. Sigh...

Just to give you guys a heads up, this is going to be a long post so I hope you're ready for it, lol!

There will also be more free QPs to follow. Each CT member will give away a QP made from the kit, one each day. Mine was released yesterday (see previous post), today was Laura's turn, tomorrow is Nydia's, Thursday is Mariana's, Friday is Michelle's and Saturday is Vanessa's. I will try to post them here on my blog as they become available so be sure to check back.

Did you notice my new blog design? I was tired of looking at my plain, simple blog. It seemed as if it had no personality. So I wanted to bring a little of myself to the blog and my readers. I made the background and the header from Phillsboo's Smells Like Fall kit. Since it's the fall season, I wanted to bring an autumn feel to the blog but still integrating my style. I think the color scheme turned out perfect. I hope you feel the same. Let me know what you think. ;D

Now...about Halley. Well you know that I was rushing to get things done yesterday because I had an appointment later in the evening. The appointment was for an audition with a talent agency to see if they would consider representing my daughter Halley in modeling. As you can tell, my daughter loves the camera and she has been telling me that she wanted to be a model for the longest time. I haven't really pursued it for her because I had always been really busy with work and I always told myself that I wouldn't make a career out of my children's career.

Now that I am no longer working, things have changed. I now have all the time in the world to help my daughter make her dreams come true. So we went to the audition last night and it didn't turn out so well. There were 30 people. between the ages of 4 to 20. My daughter was one of the youngest people there. She totally had cold feet and almost blew the audition. She didn't want to walk the runway and when she did, she slouched and started giggling. During the commercial take, she was speaking so low that they couldn't hear her. But I guess her looks made enough of an impression that she actually got a callback. She was one of 10 out of 30 people who got the callback. I guess they felt that she has the potential and they can work with her on her confidence in front of an audience and a camera.

The callback was initially scheduled for today. They wanted to interview both parents so Michael was actually going to go with me. But they called me earlier and asked that we reschedule for Thursday, which was perfect for Michael because he wanted to watch the Lakers season game opener that is on tonight. So I'll have more information for you on Friday. Wish us luck!

It gives me tremendous motivation to keep creating for all of you. As of right now, 226 download! I am in awe and very flattered that you guys like the QP that much. I created this layout in memory of my late Grandmother. She passed right before Christmas last year and I miss her terribly. Lola was not her name. It is a word that means Grandmother in my native language Tagalog (Filipino language). If you have a chance, please read the journaling. My Grandmother was an amazing woman and I want everyone to know it. Her legacy will stay with my family for generations to come.

I submitted this layout for the AhhScrap! Quote Challenge. I had also planned on submitting it to the CRD (ChristineRaneDesigns) Sunday Template Challenge but I guess I didn't read the details about using products from any of Authentic Artistry's Block Party guests so I won't be submitting if after all. Oh well, I had fun creating anyways and that's the purpose, to have fun doing it! These pictures are from when Halley was only 6 mos old. She was a very happy baby.

I created this layout for the Ahhh Scrap October Scraplift Challenge. I named the layout after my mother's name, Corazon, which means Heart in Spanish. The picture was taken by my brother at my cousin La Crista's wedding this past August. Isn't she beautiful?

More layouts to follow. I told myself that I would complete more challenges at the different forums I belong to, but I've been having so much fun working on layouts for CT Phillsboo that I've kind of put the challenges aside. Now that I'm all done with the layouts, and even managed to create a couple of QPs as well, I will try to do at least 1 challenge for every forum before the end of the month. I only have a week left to scrap away, LOL. Be back soon!

I Reached My Goal!!!

At the beginning of this month, I set a goal to create 8 layouts by the end of the month. I am happy to say that I have accomplished my goal, above and beyond. I completed my 8th & 9th layout yesterday, posting my 10th layout right now and finished another layout for Phillsboo's newest kit, called Grandma's Love, that will be released in her shop next week. I also made a QP from the layout and that will be released when the kit comes out. So without further ado, here's my 2nd layout for Phillsboo's Divalicious kit called, "It's me, Halley!".

As you can tell from the layout, my daughter Halley loves to be in front of the camera. She aspires to someday be a model but need to first overcome her stage fright. She claims to be shy, but let me tell you she is far from it. She just doesn't like performing in front of people, although she has no problem doing it whatsoever.

She's been taking cheer classes since June of this year and her team marched in the Hacienda Heights 4th of July Parade. Man was that a long parade and it was scorching HOT. I know because I was a parent volunteer and I marched alongside my daughter. She also performed in front of parents at her team's Tiger Jam. I'll have to upload the video to her performance some day. It was an amateur video, taken by me, so the quality wasn't that good but it will serve its purpose by perserving the memory of it. Her team will also be marching in the La Puente Christmas Parade on December 4th so something else to look forward. And she can't wait to do it. So my daughter shy? Nah!

On a different note, I had the pleasure to chat with some of my fellow CT members. Silvia, Laura, Marianna, it was great chatting with you ladies. They are quite the characters and are very sweet ladies. Mariana, have fun in Rio de Janeiro!!! Take lots of pictures and don't forget to share with us.

Well, I have to prepare dinner now. During our chat, we started talking about food and it just got all of us hungry. Laura said she was making Spaghetti for her husband tonight and guess what...I decided to do the same. It's been a while since we've had it and Michael and the kids love it. I'm not much of a pasta person, I prefer rice. I guess it's the Asian in me, LOL! Silvia, I guess I have to make my steak another night. Good night!

I made another layout from Phillsboo's Smells Like Fall kit available now in Digital-Arts Cafe. I love the versatility of this kit. It has a lot of rich & neutral colors for layouts for all season. This is the first layout I created with a picture of me and my hubby, Michael. Isn't he cute?

I have some EXCITING news...

So it's been burning me up for a couple of weeks now. Silvia aka Phillsboo, Digital-Arts Cafe Designer, approached me a a couple weeks ago and asked me if I would be a member of her Creative Team. Of course, I accepted enthusiastically. Being that I'm fairly new at digital scrapbooking, only a couple months now, it is a great honor to be asked to be part of a team. It gives me great confidence and much inspiration to keep doing what I'm doing. :)

Well, it's official!!! Silvia made her announcement today and I'm very proud to be a part of her team. Thank you, Silvia, for the wonderful opportunity and the faith you have in me! So from here on out, I'll be showing off her new kits and the layouts I make with them. ;D I can't wait to show them to you. She's also giving me creative freedom to create some QPS to give out as freebies on this blog. So come back to visit every so often cuz I just may have a surprise for you, hehe.

On another note, I wanted to apologize for having been missing in action for the last week. As you may remember, I've been organizing my hard drive and I'm still not completely done, but very close to it. Anyways, I've managed to create another layout using Rachael Hudnall's Road Trip kit.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! My weekend was fantastic. As you know, Jerman had a basketball tournament this past weekend. We won 2 games, lost 2. One of the games we lost by only 1 point and we were ahead by 1 with only 6 seconds left in the game, that was painful! But oh well, you lose some, you win some.

On Saturday night, my sister Erizza and our friends Stephanie, Anna and Leianne came over. We had fun just chatting, snacking and of course drinking cocktails, while the men watched Iron Man. It's always fun to spend time with my girls. They're all like sisters to me and I love them.

And on Sunday night, we had the pleasure of meeting my stepdaughter Ebony's "friend". She said he's not her boyfriend, just a guy she's dating. But I think she's really crushing on him and he will probably end up being her boyfriend really soon. He's a really smart, nice, good-looking kid. As always, my husband didn't have a lot to comment about him. Of course a father never really wants to see his little girl grow up even though she's already 19, LOL!

So I managed to do a couple of layouts this morning and I wanted to share them with you. The first one was done using Phillsboo's Divalicious kit. It's a really fun, girly kit. I'm sure I'll be making more layouts with this kit in the future. I especially love the wordart that came with the kit. If you haven't noticed, I love wordart. Your layout can tell a story just with the wordart and pictures alone. I call this layout, Smile Whisper.

The other layout was made using Phillsboo's Smells Like Fall kit. I really love the rich colors and textured papers in this kit. It was perfect for the photo of my cousins and I from last Thanksgiving. The colors in the kit matched the colors of our shirts. I call this layout Family Thanksgiving.

TGIF!!!

Yay! It's Friday! I love Friday! I don't have to get up early the next day to get the kids ready and take them to school. Well sometimes I do if Jerman has a basketball tournament, only on tournament weekends because his games are usually played on Sunday during the regular season. Oh wait, he does have a tournament this weekend but his first game tomorrow isn't until 11:45am so I can still sleep in a little bit...sleeping in for me is getting up at 8am, I'm usually up at 6am.

So I didn't make meatloaf last night for dinner like I said I would. I didn't have everything I needed to make it and I didn't have time to go to the store with enough time left to have dinner ready by the time Michael and the kids got home. So I made adobo instead, that's a Filipino dish. It was quick and easy.

And I didn't get to watch Iron Man last night like I wanted to because there was a Lakers pre-season game on. They played against the Clippers and they got their butts spanked bigtime - 80 (Lakers), 107 (Clippers). That's OK though, it is after all only pre-season and it won't count against their record.

Good news is I was able to do both of those things tonight. Woohoo! The meatloaf actually turned out pretty good and I surprised everyone by making peach cobbler for dessert. YUMMY! The movie Iron Man was also pretty good and I also got a chance to watch Spiderwick Chronicles, which was better than I thought it would be. The reason I say that is because, in my opinion, when a movie is made from a book, oftentimes, the movie doesn't turn out being as good. Take DaVinci Code for example...I was very disappointed in the movie but I loved the book.

Anyways, the real reason for the post today is to show you another layout.

This layout is for the Divine Digital Sketchabilities Challenge. It's simple, not alot happening on the page. I tried adding some flower elements but it didn't look right to me so I just left it alone. This picture was taken by my bro Allan on Mother's Day 2008 in my mom's living room. It's of my mom, my 3 kids and my nephew Joshua (my sis Erizza's son). I thought this was such an adorable picture. It truly depicts the love and joy my kids (and Joshua) have for my mom.

Well, I probably won't get a chance to do any scrapping or blogging this weekend because of Jerman's basketball tournament. I'll try to get some basketball pictures this weekend so I can make a layout for Jerman. I don't know which kit I'll be using, guess you'll just have to wait and see. So that's 5 down, 3 layouts to go...I just may get a chance to double my goal, hehe! Maybe not, I need to organize my digiscrap files. My hard drive is out of control right now. That's all for now. This was my first attempt at creating a layout without the use of a template. The color scheme of the welcome kit they gave us to use went so well with the color scheme of my cousin's wedding that I just couldn't resist scrapping pictures of my daughter Halley as one of the flower girls. ...I've been working on since Sunday after my son's basketball game. Well not continuously of course, I'd like to think I wasn't that slow, LOL. You know how life just takes you from one thing to another. Before you know it, it's 3 days later and you remember that there was something you were working on that you hadn't finished. Well, that was the case on this one. But at last, it's done. It actually turned out better than I had first imagined. ;D Don't you just love it when that happens.

This layout is of Rocky, our German Shepherd. He was only 6 weeks old when these pictures were taken, but he's almost 6 mos now so you can just imagine how much bigger he has gotten. HE'S HUUUUGE! Anyways, one of my most favorite designers is Vicki Parker. I love her kits!!! Visit her blog and check out her stuff. She's got a bunch of beautiful kits to make great layouts. Well, this layout was created from one of her recent kits, "Raining Cats & Dogs" Collab kit with Mel_H Designs (Mel has some really nice kits too).

It's the start of another week. We had quite a busy weekend so I'm more tired now than when the weekend started. The weekend never seems to be long enough. On Saturday, my son Jerman's basketball teammate had his 13th birthday party at the park. It was a nice day... not too hot and there was a slight breeze. GJ played basketball and Halley played tennis. Jerman brought a couple of his Airsoft guns so he and his friends were running around the entire park trying to shoot each other.

Later that night, my friends came over to the house to watch the Sex and the City DVD that just came out to DVD on Tuesday. We had El Pollo Loco and fondue, what a combination, huh? LOL! But to be honest, it really wasn't too bad. Just don't eat them together and make sure to eat on separate plates. And the movie was actually pretty good. I cried a couple of times. Now I'm not a big Sex and the City follower. I don't even think I've watched an entire episode. I'm just not into shows like that. I'm more into shows like Cold Case, Without A Trace and Law & Order - TNT reruns, hehe!

Then on Sunday, Jerman had 2 basketball games. They lost both games. :( Pretty disappointing. Michael and I actually got into it after the game because I got on him for making Jerman cry on the court. Michael is the team's assistant coach. The discussion got really heated to the point that we almost made a scene in front of the other parents so we had to stop before it got out of hand. Believe me, we took it up again when we got home. I had to apologize and admit that I overreacted, which I have the tendency to do a lot. But I can't help it, I had to stand up for my son.

Anyways, enough about my ranting. What I really wanted to share with you was another layout I made for a Digital Freebies Challenge. It was actually for 2 challenges but I incorporated the challenges into one layout. The layout is called "Grandparents are a Gift from God".

Aug 2008 Mega Freebie Page Kit by SAS designers

These pictures were taken when we went to Newport Beach to celebrate my nephew Joshua's 4th birthday. It was a beautiful, sunny, Summer day and I got really burnt. That's what I get for not putting on any sunscreen, hehe. As you can tell, the kids had lots of fun. GJ flew the kite, Jerman laid out in the sand and Halley skipped the waves.

Wow, 2 post in a month. I'm on a roll, LOL. So I signed up for another challenge at Digital Scrapbook Place. I'm both excited and very nervous. Excited because I'll be able to put together more layouts, but nervous because my layouts will actually be judged. But I figure...if I really wanted to learn digital scrapbooking, then I just need to jump in and do it and this is a way for me to push myself to that goal. Challenge starts Oct. 4 and runs for 3 weeks. I will be posting my layouts for the challenge here as well so guys can comment on them as well. Wish me luck! ;D

It is for a page kit challenge hosted by Memory Scraps. The prize is I get to chose 2 of Rachel's other kits for FREE (we all know everyone loves that 4-letter word). This is my first digiscrap layout ever. Don't ask how long it took me to make it...ROFL, way toooooo long. My husband Michael is ready to kick me off this computer so this will be a quick post. It was quite a challenge given that I'm not too familiar with Adobe Photoshop CS3. If anyone knows where I can find a tutorial on how to use PSD layered template, I appreciate any help I can get. Anyways, I will continue to post other layouts I make, if time and my husband permits, LOL. Hopefully, it will be much better than this one. Take care! ~ Leah :)
